Well we seem to be coming to the last stretch of our journey.
We road Hwy 52 out of Ohio today into Kentucky just to by-pass Cincinnati. From there back into Ohio to take Hwy 74 into Indianapolis.
Would have been to Indianapolis at a decent time if it wouldn't have been for rain, state police rolling blockade and construction.
Yep, first time this trip we had to pull over for rain. A couple of time actually. The first time was in a little town called Calio, OH. By the time we got pulled over to get out our rain gear it was over. Ok, not so bad. Then the second time, on Hwy 46 just south of Greensburg, IN we stopped before it started because we saw the dark sky, lighting and heard the thunder. Pulled over into a BP gas station, got on our rain gear, got the bikes under the awning between the pumps and waiting it out inside, for about 1/2 hr. Wind blew hard and fierce and we where nice and dry inside for a change.
Took off after the rain passed and got to Hwy 465 heading towards Ian's apt. and we get behind a rolling blockade of Indiana State Police and Indianapolis city police going only 20 miles/hr. Why, because someone decided to deliver over-sized I-beams to the construction zone on 465. Now, why did they have to do this during rush-hour traffic instead of in the middle of the night or early in the am? I don't know but not too nice.
But as I type this we are at Ian's apt enjoying the visit, his air conditioning and went to dinner. Mom got her way and we ate YUMMY Skyline Chili.
Tomorrow we will head back home. It's been a great trip!!!
